dean_bardetMessage from the Dean

Our goals for the next decade will transform the College of Engineering, bringing us to the forefront of Engineering education and research, positioning us among the top engineering schools in the United States. We will leverage our strong foundation to become a hemispheric resource and global community partner, addressing the engineering challenges of the future.
Specific goals we will pursue include:

  • Transforming basic STEM education, increasing the numbers and activities of talented female faculty and underrepresented students.
  • Expanding our research efforts in interdisciplinary areas where we have proven strengths–biomedical, healthcare, supply chain, and sustainability.
  • Increasing our entrepreneurial approach to education and community involvement.

These goals are both challenging and critical for the College and the University as we strive to become the Hemispheric, Exemplary, Relevant and Excellent institution President Frenk envisions.

Please help us achieve our vision, our mission by contributing to the College.

Jean-Pierre Bardet
Dean and Professor (August 2015 – June 2019)
