Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Position in Biomedical Engineering

College of Engineering at the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL

The College of Engineering  of the University of Miami (UM in Coral Gables, FL) invites applications and nominations for tenured/tenure track faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate/Full professor level in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. In alignment with the college-wide problem-based research clusters and the research strategic plan of the Miller School of Medicine (MSOM), we are currently hiring faculty to expand the following clusters:

  • Neuroengineering, neuroimaging and imaging for cancer diagnostics and therapy
  • Molecular engineering, drug delivery and immunoengineering

Applicants must have a strong record of research accomplishments commensurate with their rank, evidence of leadership and vision, proven ability to excel in an interdisciplinary environment, and a strong interest in undergraduate and graduate education.  Applicants must have earned a doctorate in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.

Responsibilities of this position include developing a strong externally-funded research program; building collaborations with the MSOM; fostering undergraduate and graduate student development; teaching; developing new courses; implementing innovative teaching methods; assessing student learning; developing new degree offerings that meet the needs of the community and industry; actively engaging with and participating in professional societies; and strengthening the role of the Department and the College in the South Florida innovation ecosystem.

Applications must include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of research plans describing how the applicant’s research will foster synergistic activities within the Department and the MSOM, statement of teaching interests and educational philosophy, and the names of three persons who may be asked for letters of reference should be uploaded.
