Fourth Annual TALIS Day Highlights Innovative Learning Strategies

Active Learning Lunch and Learn

In 2016 the college of engineering implemented the active learning initiative. One of the goals of the initiative was to promote active learning and train faculty members in active learning methodologies. Each month a lunch and learn session is held that focuses on a special topic that relates to active learning. In the past, topics such as narrative techniques, object-based learning, visual thinking strategies, diversity, equity and inclusion have been discussed. All faculty are invited to attend.

Faculty Professional Development Workshops and Seminars

Every semester the engineering faculty have the opportunity to attend several professional development workshops and seminars. These sessions focus on active learning methodologies and educational technologies.
