BS in Mechanical Engineering

Objective

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering offers program leading to BS degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME). The program is distinctive in its emphasis on analysis, design and fabrication of systems – machines, engines, products and technologies – that provide conversion between mechanical, electrical and thermal energies. The BSME program is accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET).

The objectives of the BSME program is to prepare graduates who, within the first four to six years after graduation are, either:

  • Working as a professional or as an entrepreneur in an area closely related to mechanical engineering, or
  • Exhibit lifelong learning by pursuing or having completed a graduate or professional degree and/or demonstrated professional development

Curriculum

Students enrolled in BSME program are required to complete 126 course credits.
