Message from the President of the College of Engineering Alumni Association

Dear UM College of Engineering Alumni and Friends,

I would like to personally thank you for your desire and commitment to volunteer for the 2020-2021 term. This year we have the pleasure of having many first term volunteers. Thank you for your upcoming service and commitment to excellence.

Today, we are facing challenging times that are affecting the normality of our everyday lives. However, it is amazing how we can work together to change the circumstances we all face. We are stronger together.

My desire for the 2020-2021 term is to empower each board member and help create engaging in- person, regional, and virtual events for our alumni. With advancements in technology, we can narrow the distances between our alumni and achieve a worldwide reach. Our alumni are only as strong as their active network. One of my priorities this term is to make sure we maintain and update this database to continue to have a strong network.

Alumni engagement and giving is another priority for my term. Together we can create a lasting impact on our College of Engineering. Industry partnerships and Canes employment programs will further the mission. As a member of the board, I invite you to designate a gift of your choosing for the 2020-2021 term. No gift is too small, as each gift will contribute to the impact we can make.

The University faces many challenges today as classes are scheduled to begin on August 17. As members of the board, we must be prepared and flexible in accommodating any other alternative to in-person classes and events. We hope to rise to the challenge and have a very successful term.

I hope you will join me in the upcoming months to make the best impact we can make as board members and alumni.

Thank you for your support.
