Windows Installation

Make sure you have a valid ViAComp account. Otherwise please see Dr. Zak (MEA, Room 229) to get an account

1. Go to ViAComp Document Center, open the folder 64 bit, download and unzip the certification file IEProCa.cer

2. Click Install Certificate on the Certificate dialog window

3. Click Next on the Certificate Import Wizard dialog window

4. For Windows 8 or 8.1 select Local Machine and click Next on the Certificate Import Wizard dialog window

5. Select Place all certificates in the following store and click Browse on the Certificate Import Wizard dialog window

6. Select Trusted Root Certification Authorities and click OK on the Select Certificate Store dialog window

7. Click Next on the Select Certificate Import Wizard dialog window

8. Click Finish on the Certificate Import Wizard dialog window

9. Go to ViAComp Document Center, open the folder 64 bit and open Juniper folder

10. Download and unzip the Windows Installer Package for Pulse Secure VPN Client and double-click to install

11. Click Next on the Pulse Secure Setup dialog window

12. Click Install on the Pulse Secure Setup dialog window

13. You will see Pulse Secure installing, check the progress bar...

14. Click Finish on the Pulse Secure Setup dialog window to complete installation

15. Go to ViAComp Document Center, open the 64 bit folder and open VMWare folder

16. Download and unzip the Windows Installer Package for VMWare Horizon Client and double-click to install

17. Click Next on the VMWare Horizon Client Setup dialog window

18. Check I accept the terms in the License Agreement checkbox and click Next on the End-User License Agreement dialog window

19. Select IPv4 and click Next on the VMWare Horizon Client Setup dialog window

20. Click Next on the VMWare Horizon Client Setup dialog window

21. Type view6.iepro.lan in the Default Horizon Connection Server textbox and click Next on the VMWare Horizon Client Setup dialog window

22. Check Show in Options menu checkbox and click Next on the VMWare Horizon Client Setup dialog window

23. Check both checkboxes and click Next on the VMWare Horizon Client Setup dialog window

24. Click Install on the VMWare Horizon Client Setup dialog window to start installation

25. You will see VMWare Horizon Client installing, check the progress bar...

26. Click Finish to complete VMWare Horizon Client installation

27. Restart your computer

28. Find Pulse Secure Client in the start menu, pin it to taskbar and then open the application. In the application click the + sign (add) icon to create a new connection

29. On the Add Connection dialog window select Policy Secure (UAC) or Connect Secure (VPN) option from Type combo box, type your preferred connection name in the Name textbox and type https://viacomp.miami.edu in the Server URL textbox. Click Connect to connect

30. After the server connection is established select CoE_Cloud realm and click Connect to connect to the realm. You may save your settings by checking Save settings checkbox

31. After the realm connection is established type your login credentials anc click Connect. You may save your settings by checking Save settings checkbox

32. Connection is now fully established and VPN started

33. Go to ViAComp Document Center, open the 64 bit folder and download the hosts file

34. Replace the hosts file in the C:WindowsSystem32driversetc folder with the downloaded file

35. Find VMWare Horizon Client shortcut icon on the desktop and double click to launch the application

36. Launch the Secure Server Connection in the dialog window which was already created in the previous steps

37. Login to your account

38. Launch either Pool1 or Pool2 in the dialog window

39. You will see the remote desktop in the cloud is starting up...

40. You may disconnect your cloud session by simply logging off from the start menu
