Dr. Forbes recognized IIE Fellow

Dr. Lincoln Forbes (Ph.D. IE ’99) was recently recognized by the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) as a Fellow of the organization. The Fellow Award is the highest classification of membership and recognizes outstanding leaders of the profession who have made significant, nationally recognized contributions to the field of industrial engineering.

Dr. Forbes has over 30 years of experience in various aspects of facilities design, construction, and maintenance, as well as quality and performance improvement and is the founder and past president of the IIE’s Construction Division, which promotes the practice and research of quality initiatives and lean methods in the design and construction environment.

He is the lead author of the book “Modern Construction: Lean Project Delivery and Integrated Practices” (Forbes and Ahmed, CRC Press) and is principal consultant with Harding Associates Inc. in Miami. His professional memberships include the Lean Construction Institute, (LCI), the International Group for Lean Construction, (IGLC), The American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) and The American Society For Quality (ASQ).

Dr. Forbes earned a BSc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of the West Indies and both an MBA/MS in ’80, and a Ph.D. in ’99 in Industrial Engineering all at the University of Miami.
