Connecting Women in Engineering
Last month, more than 11,000 people traveled to Philadelphia for the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) annual conference, the world’s largest conference for women in engineering.
Swati Narisimhan, secretary of the UM chapter of SWE, was excited to attend the annual conference for the first time. “I made several connections and friends at the conference and was awestruck by the numerous opportunities available to me, both now and in my future,” she said. Narisimhan is planning to attend next year’s conference in Austin, Texas.
During the SWE annual conference, women engineers have a unique opportunity to expand their network and perspective. At the conference, women are directly connected with mentors, colleagues and potential employers. SWE’s annual conference provides an opportunity for students, educators and entrepreneurs to enhance their learning experience, share their professional expertise and advance their careers.
