Salvador A. Jurado has been involved since 1972 in various positions in the practice of civil engineering, engineering management, manufacturing of building materials, construction, and real estate development for residential and commercial projects. He is president of several Florida companies involved in engineering, manufacturing, real estate development and the construction industry. Jurado is a registered professional engineer and is certified as a general contractor in the state of Florida.

His professional leadership includes serving as president of Building Components Group Inc., a manufacturing holding company with several manufacturing facilities of building and industrial products in Florida. He also presides over Realty Development and Investment Corporation, a residential and commercial real estate development company with projects in Florida, North Carolina and California. He also heads Components Management Systems Inc., a construction and manufacturing management firm.

Jurado is a member of the Panama Canal Advisory Board, a member of the University of Miami President’s  Council and has served on the College of Engineering Visiting Committee for many years. A devoted Miami Hurricane, he has three sons who have all graduated from the University of Miami’s College of Engineering. Jurado established the Jurado Family Endowed Scholarship Fund  at CoE. He is a member of the Bowman Foster Ashe Society, named for the founding president of the University, who was both an educator and an acclaimed attorney. The Bowman Foster Ashe Society recognizes individuals, families, corporations and organizations with total commitments to the University of $500,000 and above.
