Andrew Doyle, BSIE '08
As an undergraduate at UM, Andrew studied Industrial Engineering, as well as Economics, and interned with the City of Coral Gables Public Works Department. Andrew is a Project Manager with ACS Infrastructure Development Inc. which develops, finances, constructs, operates, and maintains a variety of government concessions involving transport and public works infrastructure. He has been directly involved in multiple projects around North America, and provides a wide‐range of expertise and knowledge in all activities involved in operating and maintaining large infrastructure projects. Andrew is married to double ‘Cane, Elena Doyle (BA ’08, JD ’11), and they have an infant daughter, who will surely be a future ‘Cane!
Rob Weaver, BSME '08, JD '11
As an undergraduate engineering student, Rob and his partners won the Blake King Award for Best Senior Design Project for successfully improving the performance of a bullet proof vest. When he was not studying engineering, Rob travelled the country as a varsity member of the UM Debate Team. After graduation, Rob headed to law school where he graduated cum laude in 2011. Today, Rob is a registered patent attorney which allows him to combine his engineering and legal training. Rob also serves the University of Miami as a member of the Citizens Board. Rob was previously Vice-President and Secretary as well as a member of CoEAA’s Board of Directors. Originally from Omaha, NE, he enjoys watching UM sports and particularly enjoys every time the ‘Canes beat the Huskers.
Randall Soocoo, BSCPE '03
Randall is currently the Director of Customer Insight and Loyalty Marketing for Sandals Resort International at Unique Vacations Inc. He is responsible for planning, directing and conducting the overall Sandals & Beaches Resort Guest Retention strategies. Randall has also held various leadership positions at Carnival Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean, and the Walt Disney Company leading teams responsible for the planning and implementation of CRM targeting initiatives, database marketing, and business intelligence initiatives. Randall also has a Masters in Marketing from Webster University. He currently resides in Miami, Florida and is originally from St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands (USVI). In his free time, Randall enjoys volunteering in the community, attending University of Miami Hurricane sporting events, and traveling.
Ileana Barbara, BSIE '84, MSIE '88
Ileana brings extensive corporate and entrepreneurial experience in engineering, global supply chain and operations. After graduation Ileana joined Burger King where she held many positions, including responsibility for global standards and the execution of the Brand’s strategic plans in over 10,000 restaurants worldwide. In 2003 Ileana joined Ecolab, a fortune 500 company, and was instrumental in building Ecolab’s leadership position in food safety and brand protection in the foodservice, hospitality and healthcare market segments. Today Ileana is the Principal/Owner of Engineering and Supply Consulting, a firm specializing in global supply chain management and engineering solutions for large restaurant chains, retail companies and the FDA. She is a certified Food Safety Professional (CP-FS). She has served on the Board of Directors for COEAA since 2011 and was a past Chair of the Student Relations Mentorship Program.
Raul Velarde, BSENE '15, MSCE '15
As an undergraduate at UM, Raul took part of the BS/MS program studying Environmental and Civil Engineering for his respective degrees. With a passion for involvement and outreach, Raul was part of several organizations on campus including ASCE, Engineers Without Borders, SHPE, and multiple mentorship programs. Concentrating in researching Net-Zero Water and Net-Zero Energy throughout his undergraduate degree, Raul interned with Tetra Tech in his 5th year before joining Turner Construction as an Engineer and Sustainability Manager. Outside of work and volunteering, Raul can be caught traveling and cheering on the ‘Canes!
Tamara Ali, BSIE '04, MBA '06, MSIE '08
As a student at the U, Tamara was actively involved and held leadership roles in the Council of International Students and Organizations, Rathskeller Advisory Board, and Hurricane Productions. Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, she is very passionate about the positive contributions of international students. She is currently an Engineer at FedEx Express at the Miami headquarters for the Latin American and Caribbean Division. There she leads division wide implementations and projects. Outside of the College of Engineering, Tamara and her family maintain a close connection with the U through their involvement and contributions to student activities (her brother is a double ‘Cane). Tamara and her husband Angelo have two boys who are already ‘Canes football season ticket holders. If mom has her way, both of them will definitely be 'Canes!
