A Quest: Insulin-Releasing Implant For Type-1 Diabetes

“It’s hard to predict what’s going to happen,” says Alice Tomei, an assistant professor in the department of Biomedical Engineering of the University of Miami and the director of the Islet Immunoengineering Laboratory at the University of Miami Diabetes Research Institute. She says Nyitray’s approach is rational, “but until you test in humans, it’s hard to tell whether they work or not.”  Click here to read the article by NPR.
